These images are copyrighted. They were taken in several gardens over the 2004-5 season, and now 2006 and 2007. I have grown a lot of the flowers and plants shown on this site. I have been featuring some photos from our various travels both close to home and afar. I am looking forward to a good season in 2008 and hope to be able to share some new plants and places with you.
I am a professional gardener that just loves flowers and plants. I work in several large gardens and some small ones and they provide a nice range of subjects. I have also been able to shoot pictures in some great public gardens, and I also took some in vacant fields and parking lots. That is the beauty of flower photography. You just get down to the basics of the flower the background doesn't matter!
I have been looking at flowers for a long time but until I began seriously photographing them a new world has opened up to me. I have been studying the lines and patterns and colors of the years of evolution that have brought the flowers to this point. The emails and comments I have gotten from gardeners and photographers has been great and I am happy to share some of the botanical experience I have been going through. In some ways I feel inexorably tied to the plant kingdom and it’s members.
